This is a collection of sought after German prisoner of war camp currency. On desplay are denominations of 1, 10 and 50 Reichspfennigs. One Reichspfennig is equivalent to 0.01 Reichsmarks. This currency was issues to POWs in German work camps to purchase and trade good in the camps. These bills were issued to prisoners between 1939 and 1944. Reichspfennigs are very rare today because for the most part only surviving POWs brought them home.
