WW2 Front Seam 1st Armor Corps M1 Helmet

Price

$350.00

WW2 1st armor division m1 helmet with battle damage. This helmet has a lot of history behind it. The 1st armor division was the first American armor division to see combat in WW2. They fought in Sicily, North Africa and in Western Europe. Judging by the size of the sweatband this helmet likely belonged to a teenager between the ages of 15 to 18 years old. The helmet shell has battle damage which explains the state that the liner is in. The shell has the German word “kopf” meaning “head” in english written on the shells interior with a read marker. Most of the soldier’s information in the helmet was scratched off. These helmets were mainly used by tankers who bailed their tanks.

The second armor division was made up of heavy armor throughout the war. There were only about ~17,000 soldiers in the 1st armor division and there for only ~17,000 helmets were marks with the 1st division insignia.
